[small things...]

Joining in with Meghan at MNMs for 'Things I'm Lovin'.  The instagram edition.  Life lately has been about waiting, watching, holding space, biding time.  Good time to appreciate the small things...

I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something you can be thankful for..no matter how simple it is.

Geek love...  We brought some new sleeping bags for our road trip in a few weeks.  We made sure to buy square ones so we could make a double-up and we slept in it that night to try it out.  Geek love.

Famous girl love...  I was on British TV for the second time.  The first time I was in the audience for Deal or no Deal.  This time, the BBC filmed a documentary in the NHS, including in my unit.  Do I look good in faded red scrubs?

Odd light love...  This odd light came in my window and made strange shadows on my bed.  I heard them call it 'the sun?'

Weird birds love...  Two weird seagulls went crazy outside our window at work.  We are on the sixth floor, and these birds were squawking and pecking, trying to get in to the babies.  Creepers.

Pepper-free sandwich love...  I hate pepper.  So much.  Always, always, always there is pepper on sandwiches, until I found this one at Pumpkin Cafe at the train station.  So happy!

Baby love...  The husbo had to go away for work, and I went with him.  Some friends were up there too (he works for the same company) and we stayed in the same hotel.  They have a new baby, Edward, and I looked after him while his deserving Mama had a pedicure.  Cute!

Plenty of things to be thankful for this week!

[friday fupdate...]

I don't think there is a word that's like update but starts with 'f'.  A little lazy perhaps, but hey.  This week was a little boring in some ways.  Living the high life in London is supposed to be all fun and games, travelling and friend-making, but the fact remains:  life is still life, and normal life happens too.

Nevertheless, normal life is great and there were things I liked about my week that I would like to 'fupdate' you about.  Ha.

Linking up with Meghan this week!

I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something you can be thankful for..no matter how simple it is.

: :  berlin...  I told you in my Monday Memorandum that we came home from Berlin on Sunday.  It was an awesome weekend - so much history.  I'm writing a post in my mind about it already.

I believe the longest part of the Berlin wall still standing after the fall of the wall in 1989

: :  i.r.d...  I'm a bit tongue-in-cheek saying I love the tax department... I'll be loving it when I get my money!  Well, actually they replied to an email I sent super promptly so I was most impressed.  (I wont ruin it by telling you they didn't actually answer my question.)  Also, I think it's funny how if you can't remember your password, it's okay - just click over here on 'can't remember your password?'  Then it will take you to a screen where you enter your username and 'password phrase'.  Huh?  If I can't remember the password, what makes you think I'll remember the phrase that I made up to go with the password that I can't remember?!

: :  phish food...  I never think much of Ben & Jerry's to be honest.  Give me tip top orange choc chip any day.  But sweet moses this is amazing.  Prescribed to me by my husband with the return of this weird toothache/stiff jaw thing I get.  I accept.  A wife's gotta obey, right?

: :  london family...  My Guy and I are so lucky to have each other here in London.  We are doubly blessed with two awesome friends who we can travel with, dine with and even live with.  I like to think we are pretty good at not getting up in each others biz too much - we do lots of things apart too, but we have established ourselves as a close knit 'family away from family' here.  It's a nice thing.

: :  pizza lounge...  Pizza, and a lounge - what's not to love, right?  We have been a couple of times before, but this time it was right on dusk, just the three girls headed out and we sat out in the beer garden.  We ate pizza and chatted about life (well, I chatted - too much - as usual).  It's a really nice place and not well frequented enough!

: :  planning...  Mum is coming in 17 days and I'm planning what shennanigans we can get up to while she's here.  Also the London family are planning a trip to Brighton next week, and Ireland for New Years.  Planning is awesome because it means things are going to happen!

: :  sunset...  It shouldn't take things like this to make us appreciate where we are situated (in life, or physically) but it's nice to be reminded every now and again.  It was a beautiful sunset when we walked home from the pizza lounge, and we timed it perfectly just as the sun was settling behind the London skyline.  If you look carefully, you'll see the famous gherkin!

What things did you appreciate about your week?

[things i'm loving...]

I haven't been particularly well lately, but this week has been a very good'un for a few reasons...

person...  This person is home.  I know I already showed you this picture but its just that I like him so much, and I like it when he's home.

growth...  Something about watching these plants grow from seed is so reassuring and peaceful.  The coriander (ew) is growing so fast - in just two weeks it has gone from seed to this!  But what I really love is that they lean towards the sun, as if they just know they need it to survive and flourish.  There is probably some kind of metaphor in there for life and such and such but I don't feel like getting deep.  Let me know if you figure it out.

(The best presents you give are the ones you enjoy yourself...  hehe)

british sun...  It's as if this country hasn't seen sun in years (I don't think it has), and so this week when the temperature almost hit thirty (eeeek!) there was maximum bikini action and men with their shirts off in every part of town.  Undies, undies, undies, togs, togs, togs.  The city soaked up sun as if it thought it may never be back (and chances are it won't be...)

(Later in the day I saw multiple half naked bodies on this piece of grass).

elderflower...  It's something I never saw at home, but sweet moses this drink is yummy.  I love the bottle too!

comedy...  I told you we were going to Rhys Darby this week, and we did.  I was made fun of by my pals for laughing so loud, but he was so funny!  I like laughing.  I should do more of that.

A weird shot of the inside of the theatre at Shepherds bush where the show was.

So all in all, a good week in my world!
